Matt McClenahan is an experienced estate planning attorney, representing business owners and health care professionals with wills, trusts, tax strategies, and succession planning. Matt is a licensed attorney with over a decade of experience representing individuals, families, and businesses. A significant focus of his practice is with healthcare professionals.
Matt was born in Woodbury and attended Iowa State University, where he graduated with a degree in biology in 1997. He earned his law degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. After spending several years in the courtroom, including two successful trips to brief issues before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, he settled into a predominantly transactional, estate planning practice in 2006.

Matt has assisted families with wills, trusts, and wealth protection planning for estates that ranged between $0 – $45 million. Matt is frequently retained by individuals who serve as personal representatives and has been retained by corporate trustees to probate estates and advise on administration of trust assets.
He serves a broad range of client needs, from basic wills and trust plans to sophisticated tax planning for large estates, planning for family cabins, and family wealth protection. Matt’s greatest strength lies in his reputation as a trusted advisor, faithfully representing clients through complex and emotionally difficult issues.
Health and Dental Professionals
Matt leads the firm’s Medical Professionals Practice Area Team advising physicians, dental providers, and healthcare businesses on a variety of issues, including the purchase and sale of business assets and interests, partnership and shareholder agreements, office and land leases, associate employment, and the formation of new businesses
Matt is a strong advocate for individual dentists and independent dental practices. He is an active speaker to regional and district-level dental groups and works on important legal issues impacting dentists nationally.
